That is very strange, does it ever update the player number?
I'll start digging into the code and see if I can find something what may be causing this.

Please keep in mind that there may be a 2 minute delay on the information shown on the gadget. If you notice any inconsistencies please take a screenshot of the gadget and http://login.aa3.americasarmy.com/servers?server=<IP>:<Port> (replace <IP> and <Port> with the data entered in the gadget)
Thank you

Sometimes it happens that there is an error in the xml feed (which isn't controlled by us but by Pragmatic Solutions), this may have been the cause of what you were seeing. Anything like that should "resolve" on it's own after 2 minutes.
Thank you.

Please include the server IP and port you entered on the settings page.
Thank you.

There are a number of features which are currently not correctly working, this is due to a bug in the game server client which will be addressed later on with game patches. In other words these issues are out of our control. We are currently in the process of tweaking the gadget for an open beta release. Anyone willing to participate in this beta test should check back later tonight!
Several screen-shots are available, to view them press the 'Read more' button.
Update: due to unexpected events we haven't been able to release the beta last night, the release has been re-scheduled for this evening.
That's it for now, tune in again later tonight for the open beta!

Does your CPU support 64bit? Is the OS you are using 64bit?
If not use the 32bit version. -
The America's Army Deploy client which is developed by Pragmatic Solutions is no longer hosted here.
Even if it was, you can not use it to repair an AA3.x installation, however we will soon release our own client that has all those features (for more information see the homepage).
-
First of all, the America's Army Utility Package is no more. The next version will be released under a new name, being: "K2-Solutions Deploy Client". It has been in development now for several weeks, we are making steady progress and will release it as soon as it's ready.
This new version is an entirely new platform which will allow us to distribute any software including but not limited to our own new products (more on that later), America's Army 2.x and 3.x. The new client will only contain basic features at launch but will be regularly updated. Some of the features that will be available at launch:
- Overview of available and installed software
- Ability to install new software
- Automatic updating of installed software
- Integrated web browser
- Network status indicators
- Server browser for America's Army 3.x

Yesterday (16/07/2009) we commenced the implementation of our new website content management system (CMS). This system is developed by K2-Solutions and will allow us to publish exciting, new features more rapidly in the near feature.
While we are implementing this new system some content will not be available during the maintenance window. We expect full services to be restored by 19/07/2009 8 pm UTC.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and ask that you please bear with us.
Thank you,

Yeah I didn't have time to restore the FAQ yet, coding a new homepage first (almost done).
Before you get that XP error diaolog does AAUP ask you to submit an error report? If it does, please click yes, this way I get more info about the actual crash.
When exactly is AAUP crashing? Right at startup, after pressing the login button, etc?
-
Shouldn't be related to AA at all, is it still happening?
-
Please install: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=en
After that it should work, if not please let us know.
The links to the FAQ pages will be restored today/tomorrow.

For AA there has always been a trailing \ for the InstallDir value, but I guess AADC is doing things differently again ...
There are no rules on adding a trailing \ for an InstallDir value in the registry, it's up to the developer to decide what is best. -
Looks like in fact it does make a difference as you can see in the attached screenshot.
Change InstallDir in the registry to include a trailing \
Make sure AAUP is closed or at least restart AAUP after you made the change or it will have no effect. -
There is a \ missing for InstallDir. It should be C:\Program Files\America's Army\
Try to change it and see if it makes a difference, if not I'll dive in the code and see what's wrong.
-
Very strange, can you also provide a screenshot of the AA registry value?
I'll do my best to track it down but atm I have no idea what might be wrong.
-
Please post a screenshot of AAUP downloading files in the wrong directory.
Thank you
